I had good intentions but didn't end up getting the CD single I had promised together in time for the Kenny's Castaways gig. The recording and mixing of the three songs was completed on schedule, but the manufacturing didn't come together in time. Oh well. The gig itself did happen, though. Due to cancellations I was even given the chance to play a bit longer than I had anticipated, but the combination of my rapidly deteriorating voice and a broken string 3/4 of the way through "Man Of Steel" cut the set short. I was honestly suprised that I had enough voice to get that far, given the cold I battled for the week prior to the show. I hung in there for a while, but the second half of the set was a losing battle. It was fun anyway, I'm glad I did it.
A couple of weeks off now, then on to the completion (hopefully) of the new album. Currently I'm hoping to start to get the thing to people in January. We shall see.
I've been splitting my time recently between cooing at my new son and working to get a CD single ready for distribution at the upcoming Kenny's Castaways gig. If all goes well, the "single" (which actually features three songs) will consist of "Choir Of Angels", the new version of "Sentimental Tune", and "We're So Happy." This could change, I suppose, but that's the plan as of now. Because of the last minute nature of this decision the packaging might not be all that fancy, but on the plus side it will be free of charge for anyone who attends the show.
